Posture Assessment

How we look at sitting and standing posture, methodically.

Posture is a snapshot of how your body interacts with a workstation. The assessment is about understanding that interaction, not grading you.

The framework

Five reference points we work from

We use five anatomical reference points and a small set of angle ranges drawn from established office ergonomics guidelines. Each one is documented and then compared against your current setup.

  • Eye line versus monitor top edge.
  • Shoulder relaxation while typing.
  • Elbow angle at the keyboard.
  • Hip-to-knee angle in the seat.
  • Foot contact and ankle position.

What we measure

Numbers that turn into adjustments

90°–110°

Elbow angle

Comfortable typing range observed for most adults at a properly sized desk.

20–28 in

Screen distance

Typical viewing range that reduces eye strain for standard monitor sizes.

0–6 in

Eye-to-screen drop

Top of the screen sits at or just below eye level for most desk tasks.

Self-check

Things you can notice on your own today

Where your eyes land

If your gaze drops sharply onto the screen, the monitor is likely too low. A simple riser often resolves the issue.

Shoulder height

Shoulders that creep up while typing usually mean the desk or armrests are slightly too high for the chair height.

Feet on the floor

Feet that dangle indicate the chair is too high. A footrest or a lower seat pan can settle the lower body.

Twisting to look

Frequent neck rotation suggests the screen or keyboard is offset to one side. Centring the screen helps a lot.

Common questions

Frequently asked about assessments

Do I need special equipment for the assessment?

No. We use the workstation you already have and a basic measuring tape. The point is to evaluate your real environment.

How long does an assessment usually take?

An individual session is around 45 to 60 minutes, including the conversation, observation and initial notes.

Can it be done remotely?

Yes. Many sessions are conducted over a video call, with photos and short measurements taken between us.

What do I receive afterwards?

A short written summary with prioritized adjustments, suggested settings and references for any tools mentioned.
